LOL rich of them bringing up the 60s. Who ran them out with FEs? Oh yea, Ford. Has Ferrari ever won Le Mans since? Nope.
The best news? Le Mans LMP1 class has roughly the same rules. Use whatever engine you want, no one gives a damn.
